About Us

Exia is a Canadian software engineering firm with 20 years of experience creating custom applications for both small and large clients such as Bell Canada, NavCan, the Department of National Defence, Transport Canada and Export Development Canada. 

Through years of software project management over dozens and dozens of projects, we've seen many successes and many failures. We've come to realize that much of the difficulty with software project management has to do with inadequate tools. Software process tools are too complex, too cumbersome, too slow, and poorly designed. 

So a few years ago we set out to change that, and started research and development of what we intended to be the world's best software process tool. 

The Exia Process is the ongoing result of that effort. 

The work is far from complete. Software projects are complex, and making a tool that helps them run smoothly is a long term project that requires careful thought, and much ongoing research into how people in software projects work, interact and execute tasks to achieve the end result. We're working with major clients and have continuous access to hundreds of real world users who are engaged on projects ranging in size from a few thousand dollars to several millions of dollars. As we study software development teams, the result of our research and analysis goes into new features for The Exia Process.

And of course, we use The Exia Process to manage our own project, development of The Exia Process itself.
